A lich, known to history, who died approximately 200 years ago at the hands of a group of adventurers. A recluse, little was known of him, although the party has recently determined a few things: he was a connoiseur of the arts, an astoundingly skilled crafter of automatons and undead both, a recluse in a very real sense, and mostly harmless. Menil was among the party that slew him.
A lich who came to power shortly after the destruction of L'nell, Menil was an ambitious wizard and inveterate thief and copycat. Most of his real power came from stolen items, and most of his lairs were adapted from others. Still, he was a skilled stoneshaper (using stolen knowledge), and managed to make his lairs difficult to find.
150 years ago, Menil had fully entered lichdom, and had hatched a longterm plan to conquer the Mornelith region. Placing soulstones (originally crafted by L'nell) in places protected from exploration by the Treaty of the West, he would simply sleep for a few centuries and then wake up, collect up his army of undead animals, and tromp all over the tundra, taking over anything that suited his fancy.
Unfortunately, the Treat of the West was broken, and the party came across the evidence needed to determine his plan. They have since tracked down and destroyed his soulstones... and finally him.
